Hey everyone! Sorry I've been on a little hiatus and haven't put up the final NYFW posts but I've been busy these past few days. So as most of you know, London Fashion week is finally here, well it started on thursday so I am a little late, but anyways, I will be covering London based designers as well. Diane Von Furstenberg

DVF, was another one of the shows that was highly anticipated this fashion week. Her collections in the past have been impeccable, and this season was no different. Typical Diane to have great use of patterns in her clothes. Many of the clothes were very flowing and light. There were many jackets and skirts that made their way into the collection as well. There was a small touch of metallic in the collection which added just the right kind of excitement and the addiction of the mint green color into the collection was great. DVF did a wonderful job, and the collection was overall very much that element of the boho city girl that everyone just loves. Some pictures of the collection below. Hope you all like it.

Two words, Marc Jacobs

Probably the most anticipated show in nyfw was revealed this Tuesday. Marc Jacobs. From the second the show started, Marc made an impression. The show was filled with a variety of bright fun and festive colors. The loose clothing just flowed through the air as the models commanded the runway. 70's inspired silhouettes and tops. Heavily patterned psychedelic dresses floated down and a bit of 40's glam even made it into the collection. Check out some of the collection below. Thanks guys.

Prabal Gurung

This designer has to be one of my most favorites. I stumbled upon his collection last year after reading about his work in a magazine. After looking up his collection and finding out about his star studded clientele (Michelle Obama, Zoe Saldana and Demi Moore to name a few), I cannot stop talking about Prabal. The collection started off very strong. The first couple of dresses had electric blues and bright reds in the mix as well as some orange. What I really like about Prabal is that he knows how to infuse geometry in his collection, and he knows how to do it well. The color cutouts, the angles on his dresses and tops, they all work perfectly together. As the show proceeded there were more dresses and an abundance of modest skirts in silky fabrics. When the more "red carpet" dresses came out, they were absolutely stunning. Beautifully cut dresses dripping in sequins and embellishments on the shoulders, floral ruffled dresses floated down the runway, and a gorgeous yellow halter dress slit perfectly in the middle, it couldn't have gotten any better. I love Prabal's collection this season and I only hope he gets bigger and better in the design world. Here are some looks from the show.

Alexander Wang!

One of the most anticipated shows in fashion week finally went on the runway yesterday. Alexander Wang. Who can doubt that this man definitely knows how to produce a collection that is both appealing and interesting. The show started off with pure white tops, jackets and pants. It soon transitioned into soft colored pastel greens and oranges infused into his sweaters. halfway through, the collection livened up with a touch of metallic colors and see through material. The oranges soon turned a little deeper and richer in color, and the whites turned creamier. I have to say, Alexander Wang did not disappoint in this collection. His signature look of downtown carefree chic clothing was definitely evident in the clothes, and it was more than an enjoyable show. Check out a bit of the collection below! Thanks guys.

Just a disclaimer, I was really nervous haha and I was caught off guard so don't make fun even though I sound crazed :)

Jason Wu...

Sophistication was definitely the key note in Jason Wu's collection this season. The show started off with sheer tops accented with large bows along with mid-waisted trousers. There were crisp blazers and jackets that set a modern feel, and it contrasted well with the high waisted shorts that were brought out mid way. After a couple more bows, a bit of tweed and floral applique, the dresses came out. I found the dresses to contrast the same concept of the tops. The upper sections were definitely sheer, and as the dress moves down, the light material just flows. A pink and nude colored strapless dress definitely made the biggest impression, and in fact it was my favorite look of the show. Jason Wu was definitely enjoyable and by far the forerunner for me. Loosely Elegant at Ports 1961...

Every season, Ports brings a kind of softness to its collection. This season's collection, it's all about a laid back kind of look with a certain elegance, and Ports manages to do that quite well. There was no shortage of color this afternoon, what with the hot pink frocks and the clover green satin tops. The collection is very sophisticated but mixed with a little bit of boho inspiration. One second your seeing form fitting short dresses cinched at the waist, and the next it's very loose with satin maxi dresses and oversized jackets. I only heard about Ports last year around the this time, and ever since I have been hooked. I have to say that I enjoyed the collection very much and I definitely will be looking forward to seeing more from Fiona Cibani as the new designer for the fashion house. Here are a few looks and enjoy! Oh and while I was in Lincoln Center today, I was interviewed by a woman who worked for a UK based website! I'll be posting that up tomorrow hopefully if she actually puts it up :) Thanks guys!
